Burlington, Ont. – Zoë Williams has been named IG Wealth Management Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Peak Performer for the period ending February 18, 2019.

Peak Performer – Zoë Williams (Cantley, Que.) – 4th Year – Carleton Ravens Nordic Skiing

For the second year in a row, Carleton’s Zoë Williams turned in a performance that topped a pair of individual podiums, as the Ravens’ Nordic skiing all-star was in her element at this weekend’s OUA championships.

The fourth-year student-athlete started off the three-day event by placing first in the 12km classic mass start by an 11-second margin. That race helped set the tone for her second individual outing in the 7.5km classic individual start race the following day, as Williams once again paced the pack to stand atop the provincial podium. In that encore race, she posted a time of 23:51.6, which put her over a minute ahead of the second-place finisher. Finally, on the final day of the championships, Williams competed alongside a pair of fellow Ravens to tackle the 3x3.75m team relay, with the all-star headlining what was a silver-medal winning effort for Carleton.

All in all, Williams helped spearhead a terrific weekend for the black birds, as she buoyed the team to continued success on the snow with their fourth consecutive banner season victory.
