BURLINGTON, Ont. - The following athletes have been named Investors Group Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Athletes of the Week, powered by 2XU for the period ending Aug 29, 2017.

MALE – Jacob Schroeter (Ottawa, Ont.) – 4th year – Queen's Gaels – Soccer

Cinching three of the Gaels four goals in two games, the fourth-year player was clutch for the Queen's 6-point weekend victory.

Saturday's matchup against Laurentian saw the first Schroeter goal from of a penalty kick. The veteran striker was calm, cool and collected as he froze the Voyageurs keeper and buried the PK in the bottom left corner.

Schroeter wasn't done his goal scoring campaign however, and stuck twice more the following day against Nipissing, with a pair of header goals in the 3-1 win over the Lakers.

An offensive force for the Gaels, Schroeter currently holds fifth place in the OUA for goals scored, and also has one game-winning goal so far on the young season.

The Gaels will try to extend their winning streak to three when they host the Carleton Ravens this Saturday at 1pm.

Female - Libby Brenneman (Baden, Ont.) - 4th year - Guelph Gryphons

Libby Brenneman, a fourth year goalkeeper on the Gryphons women's soccer team, is picking up right where she left off after a sensational 2016 season.

Last season, the Baden, Ontario native led the country with 10 shut outs during the regular season. In 2017, she is once again racking up the clean sheets. This past week, Libby recorded a pair of shutouts in a pair of Gryphon road wins (1-0 over York and 3-0 over Laurier).

Libby has recorded 4 shutouts this season, with all 4 games coming on the road (in the span of 8 days). The Gryphons women's soccer team finally returns home on Friday (Sept. 8) for their first home game of the season where they will face Brock.

Last season, Libby Brenneman did not concede a single goal on her home field, recording a shutout in all 7 regular season home games she appeared in.
