TORONTO – The Ryerson Athletic Department is pleased to announce Sherman Lam as the new head coach of the Rams badminton program.
Lam is a former three-time OUA all-star and four-time Ryerson badminton most valuable player during his time as a student-athlete and will now take up the challenge as the head coach after assisting the Rams program for the past eight years.
Lam has seen his personal coaching style grow from his experience as a certified personal trainer and fitness instructor, helping others reach their fitness and wellness goals with a caring and positive attitude.
"We are lucky to have the ability to transition someone like Sherman who already has in-depth experience with our student-athletes into the role of head coach," said Associate Athletic Director, Stephanie White. "Sherman worked under the guidance of Rob Fullerton for several years and a strong foundation has been built there. We look forward to seeing where Sherman will take the program in the years to come."
The Ryerson badminton team finished sixth at this year's OUA championship and will host tryouts for the upcoming season in September.
