The Windsor Lancer football team moves to 4-0 on season for the first time since 1987 with a 35-3 victory over the York Lions on Friday night in Toronto.
Windsor returns home next weekend when they host the Guelph Gryphons on Saturday October 4th at 1:00pm on Alumni Weekend.
Nate O'Halloran led the Lancer offense with two touchdown, one rushing and one receiving. O'Halloran finished the game with 38 rushing yards and 92 receiving yards. Fifth year receiver Evan Pszczonak led all receivers with 152 yards and one touchdown.
With two passing TDs, fifth year quarterback Austin Kennedy has 75 passing career touchdowns and is only 6 passing touchdowns away from breaking the OUA record in that category. The record is currently held by Josh Sacobie from Queen's University (2004-08) with 79.
Kennedy went 27-for-47 in the victory and finished the game with 406 yards and two touchdowns.
The Lancer defense had another solid game keeping the Lions offense to just 187 yards and 10 first downs.
Windsor managed only two field goals in the first half until Pszczonak scored a touchdown on a 60-yard pass from Kennedy to give Windsor a 17-0 lead heading into halftime.
O'Halloran opened the scoring early in the third quarter with a 32-yard run, and added his second major of the game late in the fourth quarter with another 60-yard bomb from Kennedy to close out the Lancers scoring.
Windsor additional points in the contest came on four safeties conceded by the Lions.
