Third-year middle blocker Keegan Teetaert posted a career-high attack efficiency, but the Winnipeg Wesmen weren't able to slow down the Laval Rouge et Or Friday night in Quebec City.
Teetaert, who is vying for a starting spot in one of the two Wesmen middle positions, had seven kills on eight swings with no errors in a 3-0 (25-21, 25-21, 25-19) loss to the 13-time defending Quebec champions. Teetaert finished the night hitting .875.
Adrian Dyck led the Wesmen with eight kills, while middle blocker Garrett Jones added six, as did Daniel Thiessen and Ethan Duncan, who both started at left side.
Darian Picklyk led the team with eight digs.
Laval got 20 kills from Vincente Villalobos and 15 from Alexandre Obomsawin.
The two teams meet again Saturday at 6:30 p.m.
