Ridgebacks’ Martindale earns OUA Peak Performer of the Week
Burlington, Ont. – Nicole Martindale has been named Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Peak Performer of the Week for the period ending September 8, 2019.

Scoring was the name of the game for Nicole Martindale on the weekend, as she, along with her Ontario Tech women’s lacrosse team, got their 2019 play off to a sizzling start.
Martindale scored seven times in the team’s opening 16-6 win over the Guelph Gryphons. She followed that up with a seven-goal performance in a come-from-behind 12-9 victory over the Brock Badgers, which included the clutch game-tying goal. All in all, Martindale accounted for half of her team’s offence over the two-game span.
Certainly, the 14-goal total was impressive from the individual standpoint, but beyond that, the fourth-year midfield/attack’s production also helped power Ontario Tech to a pair of wins in their first action of the year; something the program has never done before.
