Playoff Format
Playoff Composition: Upon the completion of the regular season, seven (7) teams will advance to the postseason, with the first overall team receiving the bye into the semifinals.
Tiebreakers: Any ties at the conclusion of the regular season will be resolved according to the Tiebreakers outlined in the Football Operations. If, at the end of the regular season, two (2) or more teams finish with identical records, the first tiebreaker will be record in head‐to‐head competition, if all teams involved in the tie have played each other at least once
Format: Postseason matchups will take place in the following format:
Quarterfinals: October 25, 2025
No. 7 Guelph Gryphons at No. 2 Western Mustangs
No. 6 Ottawa Gee-Gees at No. 3 Windsor Lancers
No. 5 McMaster Marauders at No. 4 Queen’s Gaels
Bye – No. 1 Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks
Semifinals: November 1, 2025
Lowest remaining seed at No.1 Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks
Remaining teams (hosted by highest seed)
Yates Cup: November 8, 2025 – 1:00PM
The two (2) semifinal winners will play at the highest remaining seed for the championship. The Yates Cup champions shall proceed to a U SPORTS semifinal Bowl Game, which in 2025 will be the Mitchell Bowl against the Canada West champion.
