Marauders lead after Day 1 at OUA Figure Skating Championships
Guelph, ON - The McMaster Marauders are leading the way with 43 points after Day 1 of the competition at the OUA Figure Skating Championships.

The first day of competition included seven of the 14 events. The remaining seven will be skated Wednesday.
McMaster finished first in three separate events, taking the gold in Intermediate Similar Pairs, Senior Silver StarSkate and Senior Silver Similar Dance.
The Western Mustangs sit in second place with 37 points thanks in part to a gold in the Junior Silver Similar Dance as well as a pair of second place finishes in the Senior Silver StarSkate and Senior Silver Similar Dance respectively.
The defending OUA champions Guelph Gryphons claimed a total of four medals, including two golds. The veteran pairs team of Kelsey Sobkowich and Leeann Duncan took home a gold in the senior similar pairs event for the hosts, becoming OUA All-Stars for the second year in a row.
Guelph also brought home a repeat gold medal in the pairs fours event, this year skated by Kelsey Sobkowich, Leeann Duncan, Mackenzie Wilson, and Julia Cenedese.
The competition will start again Wednesday morning at 8:30am with the gold ladies freeskate, and will wrap up with the synchro event at 4pm.
