Banner Season: Mustangs edge Varsity Blues to claim 2025 OUA figure skating title

Toronto, Ont. (via TMU Bold) - The Western Mustangs claimed their third consecutive OUA Figure Skating Championship on Wednesday, March 5, at the Mattamy Athletic Centre in Toronto. They secured their record 18th victory with an outstanding performance in the synchronized skating event, the final competition of the championship, overcoming a three-point deficit to the Toronto Varsity Blues.

Western finished with 103 points, narrowly edging Toronto's 98, and claimed seven gold medals compared to the Varsity Blues' five. The Guelph Gryphons rounded out the podium with 60 points.

Victoria Tough of the Waterloo Warriors was named Coach of the Year, as voted by her peers and the Warriors also received the Team Spirit Award, recognizing their enthusiasm and sportsmanship throughout the competition.
