Banner Season: Brock retains their double banner dominance at the 2026 OUA Wrestling Championship
London, Ont. (C/O Western Mustangs) – The Brock Badgers showcased their dominance on the mats in OUA Wrestling once again with a combined total of 157 points at the 2026 OUA Wrestling Championship, hosted at Alumni Hall at Western University.
The Badgers Men's picked up 79 team points on the backs of four gold medals & two silvers. The Badgers Women's team finished with 78 points, coming from six gold medals, one silver and one bronze. Brock swept the Coach of the Year awards, going to Men's coach Marty Calder & Women's coach Davie Collie. The Badgers also received the Men's & Women's Rookie of the Year awards, going to Javier Tonita-Charriez & Emma Chartres. The banner win is the eleventh in a row for the Brock women's team, and the tenth title in a row for the Badgers men.
The host Western Mustangs finished in the silver medal spot on the Men's side with 59 points, including three gold medals. On the women's side, Western finished in second with a point total of 58, as the Mustangs won a gold medal, a pair of silvers and one bronze.
The Marauders get a team brozne in the women's competition after winning three gold medals and adding a silver and a bronze medal. They also finished third on the men's side, collecting 56 points with two gold medals, one silver and two bronze.
McMaster's Blayne Helou was named OUA Men's Most Outstanding Wrestler. He won all four of his matches by technical superiority (10-0). This includes the gold medal match in the 61kg weight class.
The OUA Women's Most Outstanding Wrestler went to Jonelle Clarke of the Western Mustangs. She too had a dominant performance of technical superiority three times, including a 10-0 win in the 65kg weight class final.
