The squad was dominant at the CIS Men's Soccer Championship, posting three shutouts to become just the third team to end the tournament without allowing a single goal since 1991, the first year teams had to win three games to capture the national title. The Lions blanked the Canada West champion Victoria Vikes 3-0 in the opening contest, defeated the Quebec champion Montreal Carabins 1-0 in the semifinal and then knocked off the Trinity Western Spartans 1-0 in the gold medal game to claim the national title.
