PULLEN POCKETS THREE IN MUSTANGS WIN
HAMILTON, Ont. - The Western Mustangs moved into a tie for fourth in the OUA with a 10-7 win over Guelph at McMaster University on Sept. 28
It was all Western early and they held on to win, setting up three very important games in Kingston, Ont., next weekend when they play Queen's and McGill on Oct. 4 and Toronto on Oct. 5.
"We should have probably been up 5-0 after the first 10 minutes," said head coach Dave Hastings, noting the team hit a number of posts early on.
The Mustangs had a 10-5 lead with a minute left in the game and gave up two late goals with the game already decided.
"We had strong goaltending again," Hastings said of rookie goaltender Andrea McLaughlin (Oakville, Ont.). "We did very well."
Nicole Pullen (Orangeville, Ont.) led Western once again with three goals and one assist. Ashley Ridgeway (Whitby, Ont.) added a pair of goals while Tasha McLean (London, Ont.) sniped the first two goals of her young collegiate lacrosse career.
