Coaching staffs announced for 13th annual East West Bowl

Coaching staffs announced for 13th annual East West Bowl

OTTAWA (CIS) – Canadian Interuniversity Sport announced Friday the coaching staffs for the 13th annual East West Bowl. The 2015 CIS football prospects game is set for Saturday, May 9 at 2 p.m. at McGill University's Percival Molson Memorial Stadium in Montreal.

NOTE: Kickoff time was officially moved to 2 p.m. (from 7 p.m.) earlier this week due to the possibility of an NHL playoff game in Montreal at 7 p.m. on May 9.

As announced last month, Danny Maciocia from the Vanier Cup-winning University of Montreal Carabins and Brian Dobie from the reigning Canada West champion University of Manitoba Bisons will serve as head coach for the East and West teams, respectively.

Maciocia's coordinators will be a pair of U of M colleagues, Danny Desriveaux (offence) and Paul-Eddy Saint-Vilien (defence), as well as Bishop's Kevin Mackey (special teams), who will also help coach the defensive backs.

Rounding out the East staff are Nate Weiss from Toronto (quarterbacks), Dean Jones from Saint Mary's (running backs), Steve Snyder from StFX (receivers), Luigi Costanzo from Toronto (receivers), Brad Collinson from Laval (offensive line), Pat Sheahan from Queen's (offensive line), Glen Constantin from Laval (defensive line), Guillaume Boucher from Sherbrooke (linebackers) and Nathan Taylor from Concordia (defensive backs).

On the West side, Windsor's Joe D'Amore (offence), Calgary's Wayne Harris Jr. (defence) and UBC's Paul Orazietti (special teams) were appointed coordinators by Dobie.

They will work alongside Michael Faulds from Wilfrid Laurier (quarterbacks), Tom Flaxman from Western (running backs), Dwayne Masson from Regina (running backs), Jason Sulz from Alberta (receivers), Mark Surya from Laurier (receivers), Scott Flory from Saskatchewan (offensive line), Chris Morris from Alberta (offensive line), Sheldon Neald from Regina (offensive line), Ryan Karhut from York (defensive line), Donnavan Carter from Windsor (linebackers), Matt Robichaud from Waterloo (linebackers), Adam Grandy from Guelph (linebackers), Dwayne Cameron from Laurier (defensive backs), Nial Both from Waterloo (defensive backs) and Devin Kavanagh from Guelph (defensive backs).

The East West Bowl showcases – for the most part - CIS players who will be eligible for the following year's CFL draft.

The East side is comprised of student-athletes representing schools from the AUS and RSEQ conferences, as well as Carleton, Ottawa, Queen's and Toronto. The West contingent is made up of players from Canada West and the remaining OUA universities.

In addition to the game itself, the week-long event includes daily practices, a combine for participating players (May 6), the CFL Free Agency Camp for players eligible to attend 2015 CFL training camps and not participating in the East West Bowl (May 6), a coaches clinic featuring presentations by CFL and CIS mentors (May 9), as well as the annual banquet (May 7).

NOTES: The East West Bowl game will be webcast live on Should there be changes to the rosters unveiled on April 13, they will be announced in the days leading up to the game.
