OUA BATTLES BELARUS IN INTERNATIONAL HOCKEY IN WOODSTOCK
The OUA squad will represent Canada at the 2005 World University Games in Innsbruck, Austria (January 12-22), while the Belarus National Junior team will compete at the 2005 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship in Grand Forks, North Dakota (December 25-January 4).
The OUA All-Stars, comprised of the top university hockey players in Ontario, will also hold their pre-tournament training camp in Woodstock from December 15-19. In addition to the two exhibition games, the camp will feature a children's skate with the players and a coaches' clinic. A portion of the ticket sales from both exhibition games will go to support Multiple Sclerosis (MS).
\"Holding the training camp in Woodstock provides a great opportunity for promoting the City as well as bringing top International hockey to the local fans,\" said Host Committee Chair Jim Bechard.
\"The exhibition series with Belarus is a chance for our players to showcase the level of hockey played in the OUA,\" said OUA President David Dubois. \"The games will also be excellent preparation for the upcoming World University Games.\"
