WARRIOR HOCKEY COACH OFF TO THE PROFESSIONAL RANKS
WATERLOO, ON.-The University of Waterloo Warriors will lose their men’s hockey coach, Karl Taylor, to the Reading Royals of the East Coast Hockey League. Reading is located in Eastern Pennsylvania and is an affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings. Karl has had 2 very successful seasons with the Warriors and lifted the program to be a contender in the OUA. His new appointment is immediate.
“This is a great opportunity in the career of a hockey coach. Karl has the skill, knowledge and drive to be successful in the professional hockey world. He has prepared well for this opportunity. I have every confidence that he will bring a successful approach to his new team environment.”
“I want to thank Karl for the work and dedicated attitude he brought to the Warrior Hockey program. He has a special bond with the players and although they will be disappointed to see him leave, all Canadian hockey players strive to be more successful in the professional ranks. The players will want him to continue his career path.”
“Karl insisted on dedication to academics and hockey excellence. He understood the Waterloo environment and attracted players that wanted to learn under his philosophy. We are going to miss him.”

“I am indebted to the University of Waterloo for the opportunity to coach and develop as a coach. I am leaving with a heavy heart and a fondness for the players, and the University wide staff that have made my stay productive. The support of this Athletic Department staff have been an integral part of the overall hockey program success. We can all celebrate. I am confident that the extended Warrior staff and players will continue to be the best they can be”, according to Coach Taylor.
