OUA OUTDOOR CLASSIC BY THE NUMBERS
HAMILTON, Ont. – A look at stats and figures among the participating teams in the OUA Outdoor Classic games.
Men:
6 – The number of wins Brock has over Waterloo in the past five seasons to lead the series during that span. Each team had five wins entering this season but a 5-2 victory by the Badgers earlier this year gives them the advantage.
3 – The number of times these two teams have needed overtime in the last five years to decide the game. Waterloo earned a victory in 2008-09 before the Badgers claimed two shootout wins.
2 – The number of scorers the Warriors have in the league’s top ten race. Kirt Hill (Winnipeg, Man.) sits tied for third with 31 points and Chris Ray (Kelowna, B.C.) is tied for eighth with 29.
8 – The number of Brock players to hit the score sheet the last time they met the Warriors. Five of those players recorded multi-point games including Thomas Stajan (Mississauga, Ont.) who had one goal and two assists.
Women:
0 – The number of times the UOIT Ridgebacks have won a season series against the Badgers. Having split the two previous games this year, a UOIT victory at the Outdoor Classic would give them their first series win.
10 – The number of victories the Brock Badgers have earned against the Ridgebacks in the 14 head-to-head matchups in the schools’ histories.
66 – The number of penalty minutes recorded between the two teams in their last meeting, suggesting the Outdoor Classic could be another physical affair.
22 – The number of points each team’s leading scorer has registered heading into the OUA Outdoor Classic. Brock’s Jessica Fickel (Fort Erie, Ont.) has nine goals and 13 assists while UOIT’s Jill Morillo (Whitby, Ont.) has 13 goals and nine assists.
