M-HOCKEY ROUNDUP: Regular season closes, playoffs to start Wednesday
UQTR Patriotes @ Carleton Ravens
The Carleton University Ravens men’s hockey team clinched a playoff berth on Friday with a 6-3 win over rival UQTR at the Ice House.
Andrew Glass (Boston, Mass.) scored twice in a four-goal first period for the Ravens, while Brandon MacLean (Burlington, Ont.), Jeff Hayes (Ottawa), Michael Folkes (Burlington, Ont.) and Shane Bakker (Navan, Ont.) also added goals in another classic high-scoring, hostile affair between OUA East rivals.
The Ravens would get a chance early in the first to open the scoring with a power play opportunity, but after a mistake in the attacking zone, Tommy Tremblay (LaTuque, Que.) struck shorthanded for the Patriotes to give UQTR an early 1-0 lead.
Marty Johnston’s Ravens didn’t let that affect them though, as they stormed back with four unanswered goals. Glass scored his third and fourth goals of the season in the period, giving him 11 points in as many games this season.
Folkes and Hayes also helped Carleton storm out to a 4-1 lead through 20 minutes.
In the second period, MacLean and Pierre-Alexandre Joncus (Matane, Que.) exchanged goals to make it 5-2 heading into the third.
A Carleton penalty just seconds later concerned Ravens fans that another late third period collapse could be on the horizon. But the Ravens rose to the occasion on the ensuing power play, and Bakker ultimately added an empty netter to seal the deal for the Ravens.
Dopud was effective in goal for the Ravens, stopping 32 of the 35 shots he faced while swallowing up many of those shots without giving up rebounds.

NORTH BAY, Ont. - The Nipissing Lakers scored three unanswered goals in the final 16 minutes of the third period in a 4-3 come-from-behind victory over the visiting Ryerson Rams on Friday night.
The Rams finish the regular season with a 13-12-3 record and 29 points. The 13 victories ties the Ryerson mark for wins in a season set by the 1988-89 Rams, who were 13-12-1. The 29 points is the most recorded in a single season by the Rams. This is also the first time in 23 years that the team has posted a winning record.
Greg Riggs opened the scoring Friday two minutes into the contest with his third of the season. Nipissing's Lucas McKinley would tie the game just two minutes later. T.J. Battani scored a minute into the middle frame as the Rams led 2-1 after 40 minutes.
Captain Andrew Buck would score his 10th of the season just 47 seconds into the third period as the Rams went up 3-1. Nipissing's Doug Clarkson, with his 16th of the year, made it a one-goal game four minutes later. Conor O'Donnell tied the contest with a shorthanded marker at the 6:16 mark before Kevin Flather completed the Lakers comeback with a minute and a half to go in regulation time.
Troy Passingham stopped 38 of 42 shots for Ryerson, while Nipissing's Daniel Spence saved 29 of 32 shots. The Rams were 1-for-3 on the power play, while the Lakers went o-for-4 with the man advantage.

OTTAWA - Team captain Evan Vossen of Swift Current, Sask., scored the game-winner as the No.3-ranked McGill Redmen closed out the regular season with a 3-2 victory over the Ottawa Gee-Gees at the uOttawa Sports Complex, Friday.
"We played a sold 60-0minute effort given the fact that we had already clinched first place before the game," said Redmen bench boss Kelly Nobes, who registered his 199th career win as a CIS coach, including 58 over his two seasons with McGill. "It was good to see our power-play click for another two goals. We had a pretty good effort from everybody and I feel that we are peaking at the right time."
After a scoreless opening frame, McGill jumped into a 2-0 lead with second-period power-play markers by defenceman Ryan McKiernan (at 4:14) of White Plains, N.Y., and forward Francis Verreault-Paul (11:32). It was the 21st goal of the season for Verreault-Paul, a senior from Mashteuiatsh, Que., who moved into the league lead in that department for the third consecutive year. He has tallied 87 career goals in 93 regular season contests, six shy of the school record held by Tim Iannone, who netted 93 markers in 86 games between 1986 and 1990.
Maxime Chamberland of Chateauguay, Que., put the Gee-Gees back in the game six minutes later to make it 2-1 after two.
Vossen's goal, his 13th of the season, was scored at 3:51 of the third period, capping a nifty three-way passing play with Alex Picard-Hooper of Boucherville, Que., and Marc-Andre Dorion of St. Hubert, Que. It put the Redmen ahead 3-1 but Ottawa again narrowed the gap, less than five minutes later when Matthieu Methot of Ottawa connected on the power-play.
Ottawa appeared to score the equalizer with 70 seconds remaining in regulation but the goal was waived off, emphatically, by referee Chad White, who penalized Gee-Gees forward Stephen Blunden for goalie interference on the play.
Both teams ended up going 2-for-7 on the power-play and McGill had a 30-24 edge in shots.
Goaltender Mark Segal of Vancouver, B.C., made his first start in five games and registered the win, improving his impressive rookie record to 9-2-0. Russell Abbott of Mill Bay, B.C., took the loss for the Gee-Gees, dropping to 9-11-0.
Ottawa, which dropped to sixth in the OUA East with a 14-12-1 record, can finish anywhere from fifth to ninth. They close out their schedule on Saturday with a critical home game against second-place UQTR (18-7-2).

The York University Lions men's hockey team moved back into fourth place in the OUA West standings on Friday night (Feb. 10) with a 5-3 victory over the visiting Guelph Gryphons at Canlan Ice Sports.
Also recording multi-point nights were Ryan Andersen (Wainwright, Alta.) and Chris Wiggin (Brampton, Ont.) with two points each. Andersen had a goal and an assist, while Wiggin notched a pair of helpers.
The remaining three goals were scored by Chad Hohmann (Salmon Arm, B.C.), Mark Cross (Strasbourg, Sask.) and Andrew Clouthier (Pembroke, Ont.).
Rookie netminder Andrew Perugini (King City, Ont.) earned his ninth win of the season after making 32 saves on the night. His counterpart at the other end of the ice, Cody St. Jacques (Iroquois Falls, Ont.) made 30 saves in the loss.
The Lions (13-10-4) had dropped to fifth on Thursday night despite being idle after the Windsor Lancers (14-10-1) won their game over Guelph. The Lancers are now back to fifth and sit just one point behind the Lions in the standings with one game to play. The two squads are guaranteed to face off in the first round of the playoffs beginning next week, with home ice advantage still to be determined based on Saturday's results.
The Gryphons (9-14-5) have already clinched seventh place in the division and will face the Lakehead Thunderwolves in the first round of the playoffs.
The Gryphons actually got on the board first when Kris Belan (Florence, Ont.) netted his 11th of the season just 22 seconds into the game. But that lead was short-lived, as Hohmann tied it at the 7:47 mark and Andersen gave the Lions their first lead of the game three minutes after that with an easy goal into a wide open cage thanks to a tremendous pass from Thomson.
The game got chippy after that and a huge hit on Troy Barss (Barrie, Ont.) against the boards by Belan began a series of scraps between the two teams. After the penalties were assessed the Lions came out flying on the power play and Thomson netted his sixth of the year 40 seconds into the man-advantage.
The Lions held a 3-1 advantage after the first period but the Gryphons quickly erased it in the second thanks to another two goals by Belan, which completed his natural hat trick. But five minutes after Belan got his team back into the game the Lions took the lead again at 11:53 of the second period when Cross found the back of the net.
Clouthier restored the two-goal advantage just before the end of the second period on a power play goal that made the score 5-3.
Both goalies stood tall in the third and did not allow a goal, giving the Lions their 13th win of the season.

The Lakehead Thunderwolves beat the Brock Badgers 4-2 on Friday night at the Fort William Gardens in Thunder Bay, ON.
Lakehead replied at 18:58 of the first, with a power-play marker of its own. Mitch Fillman split the Brock defense and set up on Matt Caria with a wide open cage. The other assist went to Mike Quesnele.
Alex Dupuis kept the score even at 1-1 with several big stops in the second period that saw Brock gain some momentum after they were outplayed in the first. That’s not too say that the Thunderwolves didn’t have opportunities also. Devin Welsh had a great chance as he was coming down the left-wing and fired a hard wrister that squeaked through Brock goalie Kurt Jory, but slid just outside the post. Jory also made a huge save on Thomas Frazee on a beautiful pass from behind the net from Matt Caria.
Lakehead got back to business in the third period, dominating for large portions of it. The Wolves had several chances, including an open net for Victor Anilane off a Welsh rebound that he could not finish. Keith Grondin put Lakehead in front 2-1 at 7:42 of the third as he picked up a rebound off a hard Jake Carrick wrist shot. Assists went to Carrick and Andrew Wilkins.
The Wolves increased their lead to 3-1 when Thomas Frazee found a streaking Matt Caria who put the puck past Jory at 15:59. The other assist was credited to Ryan McDonald.
Brock pulled to within one after a non-call by the referee after Caria was tripped at center ice. With no call made, Jordan Gignac came back the other way and put the puck past Dupuis at 17:54 to narrow the Wolves’ lead to 3-2.
Trevor Gamache added an empty-netter with 8 seconds left in the game after a nice set-up by Caria, sealing the 4-2 victory for Lakehead.

In his final regular-season home game, fifth-year defenceman Dan Brewer registered three points to lead the Varsity Blues men’s hockey team to a 6-0 rout of the RMC Paladins on Friday, February 10 at Varsity Arena.
With the win, the Blues (15-9-3) gain a crucial two points to remain tied with the Carleton Ravens for fourth in the East division with one game in hand.
A Cambridge, Ont. native, Brewer was honoured prior to the game along with fellow graduating teammates Bryden Teich (Toronto), Jeff Zippel (Elmira, Ont.), Paul Dupont (Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.), Byron Elliott (Burlington, Ont.), and team captain Andrew Kizito (Toronto).
Brewer scored a goal and added two assists, while Scarborough, Ont. native Kyle Ventura scored twice on the powerplay. Michael Markovic (Toronto), and Cassidy Preston (North Bay, Ont.) each had a goal and an assist in the win.
The Blues penalty kill was tested early in the game, and answered the challenge, killing off a string of penalties in the first period, including a 5-on-3 advantage.
Special teams came through in the second as well, with Ventura making good on two powerplay opportunities. Ventura, who went to the dirty areas in front of the net all night long, muscled home a rebound off Brewer’s point shot to open the scoring at 14:39 of the second. Then, with 3:47 remaining, he caught another rebound, this time from Elliott, and brought it down to the ice before swatting it into the net.
After another Scarborough, Ont. native, Anthony Bergin, made it 3-0 for the Blues early in the third, Brewer recorded his third point of the night on another powerplay. With Ventura again providing a presence in front of the net, Brewer wristed the puck through traffic and past Paladins goaltender Matt Beirnes.
Markovic then helped put the game out of reach, first snapping a shot high over Beirnes’ blocker on the rush, and then setting up Cassidy Preston for a tap-in on a 2-on-1 break to make the final score 6-0 Blues.
Garrett Sheehan (Cremona, Alta.) made 17 saves for the shut out win, while Matt Beirnes turned aside 53 for the Paladins.

The Warriors were able to solve the Laurier Golden Hawks for the first time this season doubling up on the cross-town rivals 4-2 in their final regular season home game of 2012 on Friday night at the CIF arena.
Thomas Cardiff (London) netted the game winning goal at the 16:21 minute mark of the third while Justin Larson (Buckhorn) scored two goals and added an assist to lift Waterloo to their 15th win of the season. Waterloo is now 15-8-4 on the season while Laurier dropped to 8-17-2.
Starting goalie Keaton Hartigan (Kitchener) picked up the win stopping 31 shots while Ryan Daniels (Pickering, Ont.) was given the loss allowing three goals on 26 shots.
The Warriors opened the scoring four minutes into the period as Andy Smith (Rosetown) netted his eighth of the season on the power play. Justin Larson (Buckhorn) was set up in the slot and fired a shot wide that bounced off the back boards out to Smith who was there for the tap in goal.
Only two minutes later the Warriors extended their lead to two, once again on the power play as Larson received a perfect pass from Smith in the slot and made no mistake on the one-timer slipping it past the low glove side of Daniels. Schappert picked up his second assist on the goal.
Following a defensive style second period where neither team was able to find the scoresheet, the Golden Hawks would come out flying in the third determined to even the game.
Zach Saloman (Cambridge, Ont.) would get his Hawks back in the game firing a one-timer past Hartigan for his first of the season. Three minutes later, Laurier tied the game at two as Frank Riddle (St. Catharines, Ont.) let a seeing eye shot go from the point that found its way through traffic and past Hartigan. The power play goal was the second of the year for Riddle.
After exchanging quality chances it would be the Warriors who would regain their lead as Thomas Cardiff (London) found the net for the second time this season late in the final period. Cardiff, who was honoured prior to the game as a graduating senior, made a nice backhand to forehand move to open up Daniels. Jarred Parent (West Montrose) and Greg Steffes (Windsor) were credited with the assists on what was the eventual game winner.
Larson secured the victory with his second of the game into the empty net. Schappert earned his third assist on the goal while Joe Underwood (Canton) picked up the other helper.
Waterloo has locked up third place overall in the OUA west as Lakehead beat the Brock Badgers this evening meaning the Warriors and Badgers will meet in the first round of the playoffs.

The Carleton Ravens men’s hockey team will take a welcome dose of momentum into the playoffs after knocking off the Concordia Stingers in dominant fashion with a 7-0 win on Saturday afternoon at the Ice House.
The Ravens defence was able to stifle one of the nation’s top-scoring teams the rest of the way, holding George Lovatsis (Markham, Ont.) and Mike Stinziani (Montreal), two of the league’s top three scorers, off the score sheet. Meanwhile in the third, Carleton put an exclamation point on its success at home this weekend, getting four more goals to make it a route.
The action started early, when Jeff Hayes (Ottawa) opened the scoring in the first period on a rebound in front to give the Ravens a 1-0 lead on the power play. A holding penalty to Brad Albert (Nepean, Ont.) would give Concordia a chance to get its vaunted power play going, but it was the Ravens who struck.
Bakker took a breakout pass after a Concordia turnover and broke away from the defenceman with his speed and size, eventually using his long arms to get around first-year goaltender Nicholas Champion (Labrador City, Nfld.) and excite the eager Ice House crowd. Joey Manley (Ottawa) capped off the opening frame with his ninth goal of the season, beating a sliding Champion through the five-hole.
After a scoreless second, the Ravens opened the third with a vengeance. Before the first whistle, captain Brandon MacLean (Burlington, Ont.) continued his hot streak with his 12th goal of the season.
Not long later, defenceman Christian Bourdeau-Mifflen (Ottawa) joined the rush and made no mistake off a rebound for his ninth of the year, before Linden Bahm (Kinburn, Ont.) would also strike on a jam play at the side of the net.
Finally, to cap off a stretch of four goals over a span of eight minutes, Mike Lomas (Burlington, Ont.) took a feed from Hayes, toe-dragged the defenceman, and snapped his first career CIS goal past back-up goaltender Loic Boivin (Montreal) to make it a 7-0 game.
The Ravens never looked back, asserting themselves in one of their most dominant performances of the season while spoiling any playoff hopes for the Stingers, who needed at least a point to have a chance to get into the post-season.
Champion made 20 saves on 25 shots before being pulled in the third period. It was the second game in a row the Stingers were shutout, after scoring at least a goal in each of their first 26 games of the season.
Before the game, the Ravens held a ceremony to honour their graduating players, including MacLean as well as fifth-year player Justin Caruana (Orono, Ont.), who continues to miss action with an injury, Kyle Stanley (Aylmer, Que.), Chris Downey (Burlington, Ont.), Brett Halstead (Burlington, Ont.), Andrew Self (Peterborough, Ont.) and Ryan Berard (Niagara Falls, Ont.).
With the win Carleton clinches fifth place in the OUA East over cross-town rival, the Ottawa Gee-Gees, and will battle the fourth-place Toronto Varsity Blues in the first round of the playoffs.

WATERLOO, Ont., (February 11, 2012) - In the final game of their regular season, the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks men' s hockey (9-17-2) team played host to the UOIT Ridgebacks (6-21-1), the only team seated lower than them in the west of the OUA. The Hawks hoped to be able to close out their season on a positive note after dropping their previous two.
UOIT would pull within one for a portion of the third before Lebar would re-establish the two goal lead as well as earning his 20th point in the season. The Ridgebacks would show frustration throughout the game taking many penalties including four 10 minute misconducts throughout the course of the game and though they were able to pull back within one late in the third, Duncan Long of Brantford, Ont., and the Hawks would hold them off to ensure the win.
For Long, the win is the first in his OUA career in his first career start.
Though the win will not affect their position in the standings, it serves as a confidence booster before entering into the playoffs where Laurier will be facing the No. 1 Western Mustangs in the first round.

24 hours after punching their ticket to the first round of the OUA playoffs, the Gee-Gees were back in action against the UQTR Patriotes to determine which position they would enter the post-season in. However, a penalty filled affair would see the Gee-Gees ultimately fall to UQTR on Saturday night by a score of 5-3.
The Gee-Gees’ lead was eliminated shortly after though on a 5-on-3 power play for the Patriotes. Gee-Gees goaltender Russell Abbott (Mill Bay, B.C.) was sprawled out in an attempt to follow the UQTR puck movement, but Patriote forward Jean-Sebastien Breton was finally able to jump on the open-net chance.
The teams would exchange goals in the later stages of the first frame, but it was the special teams play of the squads that was the focus of the bulk of the game. The Gee-Gees and Patriotes accumulated 25 infractions for a total of 58 penalty minutes on the evening.
“It’s tough for everyone to build momentum in that case,” explained coach Paiement. “I think tonight was the worst-refereed game of the year. Having said that, we had our chances ourselves but our power play continued to be a problem.”
Entering the third period deadlocked at three each, both teams continued the undisciplined play, taking turns on the power play and penalty kill for what seemed like the entire third period. However, it was the Patriotes who made the most of their opportunities, scoring on yet another two-man advantage.
The Patriotes would manage to maintain that edge for the remainder of the game while adding an empty netter in the final two-minutes, finishing the Gee-Gees off by a two goal margin.
Gee-Gee captain Matthieu Methot (Ottawa, Ont.) left the game midway through the second period after suffering a face injury from a flailing Patriote high-stick, a note of concern for the Gee-Gees entering into the post season.
“We don’t have access to a lot of guys right now, so that adds up,” Paiement said. “But with Methot, he’s our captain, he’s been on fire lately, and he’s been scoring almost every game, so that’s huge for us.”
The Gee-Gees will now be in preparation mode for their first round matchup against the Nipissing Lakers. The Garnet and Grey finished the regular season in sixth spot in the OUA East and will be looking to improve upon their strong play against Nipissing in the regular season.
“The playoffs are a brand new season and we will be starting with a clean sheet. This is a chance for a new start for all the guys,” said Paiement. “Right now, we have to improve on our speed of execution. We are doing everything too slow right now and our decisions take way too long.”
The Varsity Blues men’s hockey team ended their 2011-12 regular season with a 3-1 win over the RMC Paladins on Saturday, February 11 at Constantine Arena in Kingston, Ont.
The Blues finish the season winning six of their last seven games and in fourth place in the OUA East with a 16-9-3 record. Toronto will now face the fifth-place Carleton Ravens (15-10-3) in the first round of the playoffs.
"It was great to win this one - it was very close and competitive," said Varsity Blues head coach Darren Lowe. "RMC played extremely hard and Brett [Willows] had a great game for us."
Second-year defenceman Cameron Bernier led the Blues with one goal and one assist in the win.
After a scoreless first period, the Blues opened the scoring when second-year forward Michael Markovic finished off a 2-on-1 with team captain Andrew Kizito to beat RMC goalie Andrew Flemming.
The Paladins evened the score five minutes later with a powerplay goal off the stick of Alex Pym, but Blues leading scorer Byron Elliott of Burlington, Ont., responded just over two minutes later with his 19th goal of the season.
The Blues held a 2-1 lead heading into the final frame.
Bernier added an insurance marker with less than five minutes to go, wiring a shot from the point past Flemming.
Blues rookie goaltender Brett Willows made 29 saves in the win.

The Lakehead Thunderwolves beat the Brock Badges 6-4 on Saturday night at the Fort William Gardens in Thunder Bay, ON.
The Thunderwolves tied it up at 6:03 of the first as Ryan McDonald put home a nice pass courtesy of Matt Caria. The other assist was credited to Thomas Frazee. Defenceman Mitch Maunu put Lakehead in front 2-1 on a nice deke that fooled Badger goalie Kurt Jory at 10:30 of the first. Assists on the goal went to Ryan Magill and Victor Anilane.
Mike Quesnele got things rolling for Lakehead early in the second period when he made a nice move to bring the puck deep into the Badger zone and put a nifty shot past Jory. Mike Hammond and Trevor Gamache collected the assists.
The bounces continued to go Lakehead’s way as Andrew Wilkins batted down a pass attempt at the Lakehead blueline and converted on a short-handed breakaway to give Lakehead a seemingly comfortable 4-1 lead.
But Brock erased Lakehead’s three goal lead, with three unanswered goals courtesy of Dan Tanel, Dylan MacEachran and Ryan Allen, evening things up at 4-4 by the 3-minute mark of the third period.
Lakehead restored its lead at 7:26 of the third when Thomas Frazee found the twine to put the Wolves up 5-4. Assists on the goal went to Jake Carrick and Keith Grondin.
Mike Hammond iced the game for Lakehead with under two-minutes left in the period on a bad angle shot that eluded Jory, making the final score 6-4 for the Thunderwolves.
Next up for the Thunderwolves are the OUA playoffs. Lakehead finished in second-place in the OUA West Division and will meet the seventh-place Guelph Gryphons in the West Division Quarter-Finals. Game One of the playoffs is set for Wednesday night in Guelph, and will be broadcast live on Rock 94 FM. Game Two will be Friday night at 7:30 in Thunder Bay, and if necessary, Game Three will go Saturday night at the Fort William Gardens.

The York University Lions men's hockey team clinched the fourth seed in the OUA West, and with it home ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs, with a big 2-1 upset victory over the No. 1 nationally-ranked Western Mustangs in their season finale on Saturday (Feb. 11).
Western was all over the Lions offensively but rookie goaltender Andrew Perugini (King City, Ont.) stood tall, stopping 30 of the 31 shots he faced in net to earn his 10th win of the season. The Lions managed just 19 shots on Mustangs netminder Josh Unice (Holland, Ohio), but it was enough on this night as Unice made just 17 saves.
All three goals were scored within the first five minutes of a period, with one in each of the frames.
The Mustangs got on the board first with a goal less than five minutes into the first by Keaton Turkiewicz (Brantford, Ont.), his 20th of the year which extended his scoring lead in the OUA to 47 points.
The score would remain 1-0 in favour of the home team until early in the second, when Messier scored his 11th of the season despite the Lions being down a man because of a Western penalty, to tie the game 1-1.
The Lions took their first lead of the game 3:05 into the final frame on Barss's goal, which came on the power play. It was his eighth of the year and he finishes the regular season tied for ninth in rookie scoring with 21 points.
As the fourth seed in the OUA West the Lions (14-10-4) will host the fifth-seeded Windsor Lancers (15-12-1) in the first round of the playoffs beginning next week.
Since ascending to the top spot in the CIS rankings last week the Mustangs (21-4-3) have lost two in a row, falling to the last-place UOIT Ridgebacks by a score of 9-5 on Thursday night in addition to the loss to the Lions. However, the Mustangs have already clinched top spot in the West with 45 points, seven more than the rest of the division.
The Lions will host Game 1 of the first round of the playoffs this week, and then the two teams will travel to Windsor, Ont., for Game 2. Game 3, if necessary, will be played back at York.

The Lancer men’s hockey team earned their sixth straight win with a 6-3 victory over the Waterloo Warriors on Saturday night at Windsor Arena.
The Lancers close out the regular season with a 15-12-1 record, and finish in 5th place in the OUA West division.
Prior to the game, the Lancers honoured their graduating seniors and paid tribute to Windsor Arena, which will be closing at the end of the season.
Windsor got on the board first just three minutes into the game as Isak Quakenbush scored his fifth of the season. Assisted were credited to Adam Feniak and Scott Todd.
Waterloo’s Josh Woolley tied the game at 9:04 of the first to knot the game at one heading into the second period.
Lancer goaltender Parker Van Buskirk made some big saves, and the Lancer offence lit up the scoreboard in the second with four unanswered goals to take a significant lead heading into the final period.
Brett Vandehogen sent a nice pass over to Spencer Pommels at 7:53 of the period, before Evan Stibbard added his team leading 14th goal of the season to give the Lancers a two goal lead.
With a man advantage, Steve Ferry snapped one past Warrior goaltender Justin Leclerc at 17:33 and Christian Steingraber added the team’s fourth of the frame just over a minute later to close out the scoring for the period.
Ryan Green put up the Lancers second power play goal of the night at 7:17 of the third period. Green 12th goal of the season was set up by Brett Oliphant and Steingraber.
The Warriors got back on the board with their own power play goal at 14:56 with a goal from Josh Schappert. Waterloo then scored their final goal of the game at 18:19 from Tyler Moir.
The Lancers will now face the York Lions in the first round of the OUA playoffs.
