W-VOLLEYBALL EXHIBITION HOLIDAY ROUNDUP
Guelph Gryphons – Conferences of Canada Tournament:
The University of Guelph women's volleyball team were victorious in the 3rd-4th place game today at the Conferences of Canada tournament in Brandon, Manitoba.
For the second consecutive day, the Gryphons played aggressive volleyball against the host Brandon Bobcats and executed at a high level in winning in straight sets 25-22, 25-19 & 25-20. Coach Funk said,
"Today our goal was to stay aggressive and try to ignore the scoreboard. We wanted to do a couple of things differently than our match against them yesterday and our team and especially our setter Katelyn Larson executed our plan very well. We played with good energy and focus and we were deserving of the win."
The Guelph offence was led by Erinn Bickle with 14 points (13 kills, 1 block) and Brooke Lloyd with 13 (12 kills, 1 block).
