OUA CHAMPIONSHIPS DAY ONE RESULTS

ST. CATHARINES -- The Queen's Golden Gaels curling teams got off to a great start at the 2006 OUA Curling Cganmpionships with decisive wins from both the men's and women's rinks. The gaels men began the round robin portion og the tournament with a 7-3 win over the Windsor Lancers, while the women doubled up the Laurier Golden Hawks 10-5.

The host Brock Badgers women began with a solid 7-6 victory over the defending OUA champion Waterloo Warriors. But the Brock men faltered against a prepared Laurier team that went on to an
8-4 in thier first match of the Championships.

The round robin continues throughout Saturday with the semi-finals and Gold Medal matches set for Sunday.
