KNOX LEADS GOLDEN HAWKS IN 6-1 WIN
Laurier 6 Trent 1
Miguel Knox scored twice for the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks as they defeated the Trent Excalibur 6-1 Saturday at University Stadium in Waterloo. Knox scored in the first and fifth minutes, which was enough to defeat the visiting Excalibur. Damir Hadziavdic, Lucas Martin, Adam Jongsma and Gavin Brancato also scored for Laurier. Defender Matthew Gardner had the only goal for Trent, coming in the 80th minute.
Nipissing 1 Laurentian 1
The Nipissing Lakers and the Laurentian Voyageurs battled to a 1-1 draw in men’s soccer action Saturday at the LU Fields. Matt Boulton got the equalizer for Laurentian just three minutes before the end of regular time to give the Voyageurs a point. After a scoreless first half, Nipissing forward Alagie Gaye bagged the game’s first goal when he struck in the 53rd minute.
Carleton 4 Waterloo 1
The Carleton Ravens scored four unanswered goals in the first half to defeat the Waterloo Warriors 4-1 in Waterloo Saturday. Joshua Dewar-Morris, the OUA male athlete of the week last week, John Legakis, Abdullaho Abunafeesa and Jorge Gutierrez had the Carleton goals. Jimmy Murphy scored for the Warriors.
Brock 2 Ryerson 0
The Brock Badgers scored twice in the second half to lift past the visiting Ryerson Rams in St. Catharines Saturday. No one found the scoresheet in the opening 45 minutes but Brock’s Phillip Hull struck in the 63rd minute to provide all of the offense the Badgers would need. Joseph Delpriore added another goal 16 minutes later, while goalkeeper Chris Cutaia was credited with the clean sheet in the Brock net.

Carleton 1 Laurier 1
Joshua Dewar-Morris scored his sixth goal of the young season to help the Carleton Ravens earn a 1-1 draw with the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks Sunday in Waterloo. Dave Cox opened the scoring for the home side in the 30th minute but Dewar-Morris, who had a goal in Carleton’s 4-1 win over Waterloo Saturday, tallied at the 75-minute mark to help the Ravens escape with a point.
Queen’s 5 RMC 0
The Queen’s Golden Gaels earned local bragging rights Sunday as they dominated the RMC Paladins 5-0 in Kingston Sunday. Brent Lukowski and Christopher Gencarelli scored two goals each, while Nick Milonas added the other goal for Queen’s.
Western 3 Windsor 1
Michel Daoust scored all three goals as the Western Mustangs traveled to Windsor and beat the home side Lancers 3-1 Sunday. Daoust tallied twice in the first half to build a 2-0 lead for the Mustangs before Jason Antovski brought the Lancers to within a goal of the lead in the second half. But Daoust completed the hat-trick to ensure the three points for Western.
Guelph 4 McMaster 0
The Guelph Gryphons scored three goals in the opening 17 minutes of the match en route to a 4-0 shutout of the McMaster Marauders Sunday. Chike Agbasi got Guelph’s first in the fourth minute and Nick Cairns added another at the eight-minute mark. Jordan Matley made it 3-0 for the home side in the 17th minute and Adam Rivers also tallied just moments from regulation time expiring to complete the scoring. Thomas Sabel had the clean sheet in the Guelph net.
York 0 Toronto 0
No one could find the back of the net as the York Lions and Toronto Varsity Blues played to a goalless draw at Varsity Stadium Sunday. The York and Toronto women also ended 0-0 on the same afternoon. York goalkeeper Greg Zatulovsky was credited with the shutout, as was Toronto’s Mate Jurkin.
