OUA M-SOCCER ROUNDUP: ZEROS BETWEEN GUELPH, LAURIER
Both teams created chances in the first half, including two well saved Guelph shots off a corner kick and a Laurier free kick off the crossbar but neither team could find the back of the net.
Gryphon goaltender Craig Boytchuk (Strathroy, Ont.) played strong for Guelph making several key saves especially in the first half. In the second half the Gryphons took more control of the game and solidified their defence, allowing few Laurier chances, while creating few attacking chances of their own.
Overall, this season the Gryphons have managed to score four points against the tough Golden Hawks this season.
The result moves the 3-6-3 Gryphons into the final playoff spot in the standings with two games to play in the season as they host Brock and McMaster this weekend.
