CHALLENGE CUP RESULTS

The 2004 Challenge Cup was held at Heron Point Golf Links in Alberton, Ont. this past weekend. The Challenge Cup, a match play tournament, is a team only event in which players play against either one or two other players for a point for the winner of the front nine, a point for the winner of the back nine, and a point for the winner of all eighteen holes. If it's just a two-player match instead of a three-player match, the points are doubled. Any player in the field can win as many as six points.

The Waterloo Warriors took the last tournament before the OUA Championship in convincing fashion with an 8 1/2 point win over the field. The host McMaster Marauders finished second with 15 points, and Toronto took home the bronze.
