Striker Chris Gencarelli (Kingston) netted his sixth goal of the OUA campaign at the eighth minute, placing him in a tie with two others for the conference scoring lead. Queen's third-year midfielder Rick Paudyn (Yarker, Ontario) netted the game winning just 16 minutes later to give the Varsity Blues their first loss of the season. Third-year midfielder Jose Damora (Woodbridge, Ontario) pulled Toronto to within one goal, minutes before halftime. A scoreless second half sealed the fate of the Blue and White, despite getting five shots on Gaels' keeper Tyler Lewis.
Waterloo 2, Western Ontario 0
Third-year midfielder Paul Arnold (London) and Leon Latty scored for the Warriors. A stingy Waterloo defence held Mustangs forward Michael Daoust (Wheatley Rover, PEI) off the scoresheet. Coming into the game, Dauoust had netted six goals.
The Badgers earned a pair of wins, (3-1 over Guelph, and 2-0 versus York) to keep pace with the Mustangs atop the OUA West Division. The Gaels, with wins over Toronto and a 1-0 victory over Ryerson, moved into a tie for first place in the Eastern Division with the Varsity Blues.
