BROWN, MALINAS FIRST AT HENLEY REGATTA
The Toronto natives won the gold medal in the senior lightweight women's pair with a time of 7:49.57.
Brown and Malinas made the final in three other events, finishing fourth in the under-23 women's lightweight pair, fifth in the under-23 lightweight women's double and sixth under-23 women's pair.
The Royal Canadian Henley Regatta is the premier club championship rowing event in North America. It attracts over 3000 athletes and 150 clubs each year from around the world to participate on a Class A 2000m facility in the Martindale waterway basin in St. Catharines, Ont.
Other top finishes include Varsity Blues assistant coach Meghan Jackson and Caro Kronlachner's (Toronto) silver-medal finish in the senior women's pair with a time of 7:21.72.
Elise Mackie (Calgary, Alta.) and Lindsay Tetreault (Oakville, Ont.) recorded a time of 7:37.60 to place sixth in the under-23 women's double event.
Varsity Blues rowers competed as members of the Hanlan Boat Club.
