Chetrat and McIlveen named Pioneer Energy OUA athletes of the week

MALE: Zack Chetrat, Toronto Varsity Blues, Swimming
Zack Chetrat won two gold medals in leading the Varsity Blues to the 2012 University Cup title on Thursday at Varsity Pool. The Oakville, Ont., native set a new meet record in winning the 100-metre butterfly. Chetrat touched the wall in 53.24 seconds, a full second ahead of Alberta's Joshua Au. The fourth-year economics and political science major also took the 400-metre freestyle title with a CIS-standard time of 3:51.22. Chetrat helped U of T to claim both the men's (302 points) and overall title (598) at the 2012 event.
FEMALE: Sarah McIlveen, Carleton Ravens, Water polo
Sarah McIlveen helped the Carleton Ravens women's water polo team reclaim the OUA banner at the championship tournament held in Ottawa this past weekend. The Scarborough, Ont. native scored 20 goals over four games en route to being named the tournament MVP. The Ravens defeated the Toronto Varsity Blues 6-5 in double overtime to secure the win.
