GUELPH SWEEPS WESTERN, YORK WINS 3-1 AGAINST RMC
The University of Guelph (3-3) added another to their win column as they swept the University of Western Ontario (4-4) 3-0 on Saturday. Following weekend play, the two teams are at the .500 mark with Western in fourth place and Guelph in third in the west.
The scores of the sets were 28-26, 26-24, 25-13 in a game that saw two extremely close opening set, before the Gryphons stole the show in the third with a 12 point win. Guelph was able to take advantage of Western's many errors toward the end of the match and earn the win.
Kendall Milne (Toronto, Ont.) led Guelph with 15 points including 13 kills and two aces while Sarah Pardy (Thorndale, Ont.) contributed 12 points through eight kills and four blocks. Sarah Farrell (London, Ont.) was the Mustang point leader with 11 points and teammate Jacqueline Robinson (Vancouver, BC) delivered a solid performance recording eight points for the Mustangs.

York University (4-1) extended its winning streak to three games as they defeated the Royal Military College (0-6) by a score of 3-0 on Sunday at the Tait McKenzie Centre. The Lions are currently in third place in the east, while RMC are at the bottom of the same division, still looking for their first win of 2007.
The Lions took their first two sets steadily with scores of 25-11 and 25-15 respectively. Although the Paladins looked stronger at the start of the third set, the Lions continued to shine, winning 25-13.
Sarah Sutton (Scarborough, Ont.), an outside hitter for York, was the game point-leader with 11. Adding seven points each were teammates, Chelsea Thomas (Port Colborne, Ont.) and Mackenzie Coyle (Windsor, Ont.). Glynis Rogers (Yarmouth, NS) and Heidi Jokela (Ottawa, Ont.) were the Paladins' leading scorers with six points a piece.
