On the men's side, the Brock Badgers continued their perfect run in Pool A, adding an impressive 7-3 victory over the Laurier Golden Hawks and a 5-0 shutout of McMaster to move to 6-0 in sole possession of the pool's top spot. The loss to Brock was Laurier's first, as the Golden Hawks now sit tied for second in Pool A with the similarly 5-1 Lakehead Thunderwolves. Waterloo will need a few bounces to fall their way if they are to make the playoffs, as they currently stand at 3-3.
The UOIT Ridgebacks suffered their first loss of the tournament in heartbreaking fashion in Pool B, as Western scored one in the bonus ninth end to win 5-4. UOIT remains the pace-setter in the pool with a 5-1 record, while Toronto and Western follow at 4-1.
Matching their male counterparts, the Brock women also remain undefeated after day three, notching dominant wins over Algoma and Trent to move to 6-0 atop the Women's A pool. Carleton and Toronto follow just a game behind, while UOIT sits at 3-3.
The most wide open of the pools entering the final day of preliminary play is the Women's B, where Laurier and Guelph sit tied atop the standings at 4-1. Western trails just behind at 4-2 as does Waterloo at 3-2.
The last preliminary draw of the tournament opens the day on Sunday, before the tiebreaker round at noon. Quarterfinals on both the men's and women's sides will get underway at 7:00 p.m.
