Western Mustangs @ McMaster Marauders
Fifth year senior Cheryl Druchok (Palgrave, Ont.) scored the loan goal of the game to give the McMaster women's soccer team a 1-0 win against the Western Mustangs to open the 2010 Ontario University Athletics (OUA) regular season on Saturday.

First year goalie Jocelyn Wilkins (London, Ont.) secured the shut out in net for the Marauders. Jodie Scoular took the loss in net for the Mustangs despite making seven saves in the contest.

Trent Excalibur @ Queen’s Gaels
Jacqueline Tessier of Winnipeg, Man., had five goals Sunday afternoon to lead the No. 4 Queen's Gaels to a 9-1 victory over the Trent Excalibur in their home opener at Richardson Stadium.
The Gaels took an early lead over the Excalibur with Chantal McFetridge of Kelowna, B.C., scoring off a bouncing cross in the opening minutes of the game. Tessier added to the early lead scoring a header off a long pass from the midfield. Within minutes, Tessier had scored her second goal of the afternoon to give the Gaels a three goal advantage. She completed her hat trick off a beautiful cross from Jennifer Hutchinson of St. John's, Nfld., later in the half.
In the final minutes of the first half, Jennifer Hutchinson maneuvered around several Trent players to play a cross to Mary Kampman of Penticton, B.C., who found the back of the net to give the Gaels a 5-0 lead at the end of 45 minutes.
Tessier would score another pair of markers early in the second half to complete her five goal effort on the day. Queen's would add goals from Brienna Shaw of Vancouver and Melissa Jung of Mississauga, Ont., to round out their scoring.
Amy Walsh of Peterborough, Ont., scored the Excalibur’s lone goal of the game.
The win brings the Gaels regular season record to 2-0.

The Lancer women's soccer team opened up the 2010 season with a pair of ties against Guelph and McMaster on the road this past weekend.
In a quick turn of events, the Lancer women’s soccer team opened their season with a 1-1 tie against the Guelph Gryphons on Saturday afternoon in Guelph.

The Lancer women's soccer team opened up the 2010 season with a pair of ties against Guelph and McMaster on the road this past weekend.
In a quick turn of events, the Lancer women’s soccer team opened their season with a 1-1 tie against the Guelph Gryphons on Saturday afternoon in Guelph.
The Lancers controlled the offense in the first half, as Kelly Riccardi led a number of attacks against the Guelph defence, setting up a number of Lancer scoring opportunities. The determined Gryphons held their own against the charging Lancers, and managed to keep the score tied at zero.
Under rainy conditions, the game balanced out in the second half with back-and-forth play between both teams. With very little action, and only a few shots on net by both teams, it looked as though the game was going to remain 0-0.
However, during the last two minutes of injury time the Gryphons took a quick lead as Jenny Dunn broke from the crowd, receiving a pass from across the field, and firing the ball into the corner of the Lancer’s net behind goalkeeper Rebecca Singer.
Gryphon fans were still cheering for the Guelph goal when the Lancers sped up the field with only seconds left in the game, with Windsor midfielder Candace Garrod controlling the ball. Gryphon goalie Joelle Chartrain ran out to try and challenge the offence but was unable to stop the surging Lancers. Garrod shot the ball and it landed in the back of the open net, quickly ending the Gryphon lead and tying the game at 1-1.
On Sunday afternoon, Meresa Brownlie scored the Lancers lone goal in the 1-1 tie against the Marauders in Hamilton.
Windsor out-shot McMaster 10-8 in the contest. Fourth year goaltender Singer was in net for the Lancers.

Second-year midfielder Corina Jarrett, Ottawa, Ont., opened up the scoring for the Gee-Gees with a goal at only seven minutes into the first half. Gee-Gees captain Élise Desjardins, Cumberland, Ont., followed with a point of her own shortly after, and second year midfielder Aley Jotham, Ottawa, Ont., closed out the first half by firing a shot over the RMC net-minder.
In the second half, Jotham snagged her second goal of the game, while first-year striker Lili Wong, Nepean, Ont., buried three of her own, making a grand entrance into Gee-Gees soccer for her first game.
Third-year Gee-Gees goaltender Mélissa Pesant, Gatineau, Qué., recorded her first shut-out of the season for the Gee-Gees.

Juliana Bergin scored two goals to lead the No. 5 University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's soccer team to a 4-0 victory over the Laurentian Lady Vees today (Sept. 5) in Sudbury, Ont.
After two early saves by Blues goalkeeper Kat Vulic (Oakville, Ont.), Western Mustangs transfer Kate Crowley (London, Ont.) opened the scoring in the 16th minute when she kicked the ball through a scramble in the box past Lady Vees goalkeeper Michelle Philip.
Fifth-year veteran Mel Seabra of Brampton, Ont., potted her first goal of the season 20 minutes later, sending a beautifully placed free kick into the top corner of the net. Toronto held a 2-0 lead heading into the half.
The Blues came out strong in the second half as Bergin of Baxter, Ont., headed a Crowley pass into the net at the 46th minute mark and followed that up with a break away goal in the 68th minute.

Wilfrid Laurier @ Waterloo Warriors
First year midfielder Amanda Mithrush (Thunder Bay, Ont.) scored two goals as the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks (1-0-0) opened their season with a 3-1 victory over the Waterloo Warriors (0-1-0).
Laurier's first goal of the year came early in the second half after Mithrush moved to the left side. The kinesiology major took control of the ball at midfield and fired a shot through two Waterloo defenders to find the back of the net.
Her second of the match came off a goal mouth scramble created by a drop ball inside the Warriors 18-yard box. After the Hawks won the drop, it moved between several Laurier players before Mithrush brought it down and shot it home.
Waterloo scored their first goal just minutes after Mithrush opened the scoring. The Warriors Tara Chadwick (Stratford, Ont.) beat Hawk netminder Tristin Vogel (Collingwood, Ont.) to tie up the match.
Laurier's winning goal came off of a Waterloo own-goal. Kelsey Abbott (Waterloo, Ont.) crossed the ball into the 18-yard box and a Warrior defender deflected the ball off their head and into the net.
