OUA EXTENDS TRAINING CAMPS
The move will allow teams to better prepare for the upcoming season and is aimed at reducing the number of injuries suffered during the pre-season.
The 2005 OUA Football season kicks off on Sunday September 4, when the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees host the University of Guelph Gryphons at Frank Claire Stadium at 7 pm.
The other eight teams will begin their quest for the Yates Cup on Labour Day Monday. The regular season runs 8-weeks, concluding on October 22.
The road to the Yates Cup begins on Saturday October 29th with a pair of Quarter-final games. The winners will advance to play the top two regular season teams in the semi-finals on November 5th. The season wraps up with the Yates Cup presented by Pioneer Petroleums on November 12, 2005.
The OUA champions will travel to the site of the Atlantic University Sport (AUS) champions for the Uteck Bowl on Saturday November 19th. The winner of that game will advance to the 2005 Desjardins Vanier Cup on Saturday December 3 at Ivor Wynne Stadium in Hamilton.
