QUEEN'S DROPS FIRST OF SEASON TO WESTERN
The McMaster Marauders are now the only team in the OUA yet to lose as they easily handled the Brock Badgers 50-0 Saturday. Shawn Windsor and Nolan Ott had two tries each and Spencer Fullerton chipped in five conversions to lead the Marauders with 10 points apiece. Robert Ashwood, Aaron Carpenter and Alexander Sithole had the other tries. McMaster is a perfect 7-0, having outscored their opponents 376-31.
Steve Piatek was a force on Windsor’s home pitch Sunday as the Lancers beat Toronto 53-3. Piatek, a third-year Brantford native, scored four tries and added four conversions accounting for 28 of Windsor’s points.
The Laurier Golden Hawks earned a big win by defeating the RMC Paladins 52-3. Jeff Cooper led Laurier with a try and three conversions, while Christopher La Placa and Jacob McNamara had two tries apiece. Timothy Birkett added a pair of penalty goals for Laurier.
In other action, the Guelph Gryphons defeated the Trent Excalibur 14-3 Saturday and the Waterloo Warriors beat the Carleton Ravens 24-12. Jared Ehgoetz had two tried for the Warriors.
