OUA FOOTBALL RECORDS FALL IN FINAL WEEK OF THE SEASON
With the 2012 OUA football season entering its final week, several players are on the verge of leaving their mark on the OUA record book.
SCORING
Most Field Goals in a Career: Ottawa’s Matthew Falvo (Welland, Ont.) is now the OUA record holder for most field goals in a career. Falvo entered the final game of his career tied for the lead, but made five field goals in a 32-29 loss to Western. Falvo now holds the OUA record for most field goals in a career with 75.
Longest punt: Falvo made another mark on the OUA record book on Saturday, when he punted for an OUA longest 98 yards. His punt surpasses that of Gueph's Darryl Skuse in 1985.
RECEIVING
Most Receptions in a Season: Fifth-year Windsor Lancers receiver Jordan Brescacin (Tecumseh, Ont.) made eight catches in a week-eight loss to the Waterloo Warriors. Saturday's performance gives Brescacin the OUA record for receptions in a season, with 68.
Most Receptions in a Career: In addition to the new single season record, Brescacin’s eight catches Saturday gives him a career total of 192. That performance allowed Brescacin to pass Andy Fantuz for top spot on the OUA list for most receptions in a career
PASSING
Highest Completion Percentage in a Season: McMaster quarterback Kyle Quinlan (South Woodslee, Ont.) finished the regular season with 160 completions on 233 attempts, to finish with an unofficial completion percentage this season of 69%. That mark surpasses the previous OUA record of 68.5 percent, giving Quinlan the OUA record for highest completion percentage in a season.
