RYERSON STAYS UNBEATEN WITH TWO MORE WINS
The York Lions looked strong this week with their own back-to-back 3-0 wins over the Waterloo Warriors Thursday night and the Laurier Golden Hawks Saturday. Sholan Trivedi had 10 kills for the Lions, who controlled the third game, winning 25-17. York had little trouble in the first two games against Laurier, winning by scores of 25-28 and 25-15. Jordan Matthews led all Lions with 11 kills, while Trivedi added another nine. York had 23 digs in the three games.
The McMaster Marauders improved to 4-1 on the season with a 3-1 victory over the Queen’s Golden Gaels Saturday and a 3-0 win against the RMC Paladins Sunday, with both matches played at the Burridge Gym. Daniel Smedley led the Maruders with 14 kills, while Peter Hrkal added 13 more. Sean Panchal had 11 digs for McMaster. The Marauders dominated the last game against the Paladins, winning 25-11. Steve Murray led the way against RMC with a match-high 10 kills. RMC also lost to Guelph 3-2 Saturday.
With their first two wins of the season, the Toronto Varsity Blues improve to 2-2. Torono defeated Western 3-2 Saturday and then beat Windsor in three straight games Sunday by scores of 25-23, 25-21 and 25-23. Juan Serrano and Senan Farrell had 11 kills each for the Blues against Windsor. Bowie Cheung registered a match-best 10 digs.
