MARAUDERS AND GOLDEN HAWKS EARN 3-0 WINS
The McMaster Marauders improved to 9-2 after beating the Guelph Gryphons 3-0 Friday at the Burridge Gym in one of two OUA volleyball matches this past week. McMaster, led by Daniel Smedley's 12 kills, dominated the Gryphons 25-13, 25-17 and 25-15 in the three-set sweep. Smedley is 13th in the OUA with 101 total kills. Sean Panchal had 22 assist for the hosts, while Matt Peters paced Guelph with nine kills. McMaster is tied with the Ryerson Rams with 18 points atop the league, though Ryerson has a game in hand.
In the only other match of the week, the Laurier Golden Hawks swept the Waterloo Warriors 3-0 Friday. Laurier's Jean-Paul Wilkerd led all players with 10 kills, giving him 136 on the season (fifth in the OUA). Cam Smellie had nine digs for the Hawks. Waterloo is still winless on the season, having dropped 11 straight games.
