The McMaster Marauders dominated the visiting Laurier Golden Hawks on Saturday evening on route to the OUA Final Four Tournament. The Marauders easily bested the Hawks in three sets (25-21, 25-12, 25-18). In a game where the Marauders essentially led from start to finish, Shayne Petrusma (Burlington, Ont.) scored a game high 15 points on 13 kills. Tyler Santoni (Kingston, Ont.) and Kevin Stevens (Winnipeg, MB) both contributed 12 points, while Michael Sjonnesen (Cambridge, Ont.) had a game high seven blocks.
Laurier's Dave Hamilton (Toronto) posted 11 digs, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Marauders impressive kill percentage (nearly eight times that of Laurier).
The Marauders continue their post season campaign as they move on the OUA Final Fours, hosted by the Western Mustangs. McMaster will face off against Queen's in a semi-final to be played at 5 p.m. on Friday, February 25.

Waterloo, 0 @ Queen's, 3 Box Score
Three Gaels recorded nine or more kills as the No. 10 Queen's men's volleyball team advanced to the OUA Final Four tournament with a straight sets win over the Waterloo Warriors Saturday night at the Athletics and Recreation Centre (ARC).
Set scores were 25-23, 25-20, 25-17.
The Gaels received strong efforts from Joren Zeeman of Cambridge, Ont., Bryan Fautley of Oakville, Ont., and Michael Amoroso of Toronto. Zeeman finished the match with a game-high 12 kills while Fautley was the only other player to reach double-digits in kills with 10.
Amoroso, who finished the match with nine kills, was especially strong in the opening set as he recorded five kills to help the Gaels overcome a 21-18 deficit.
All three players were also very efficient in their hitting with Amoroso leading all three with a 41.2 hitting percentage. Overall as a team, the Gaels outhit the Warriors 25% to 15.6%.
Dan Rosenbaum of Hamilton, Ont., was named the Queen's player of the match as he earned 32 assists in the win.
Fiodar Kazhamiaka of Waterloo, Ont., led Waterloo with eight kills and six digs in a losing effort.
The Gaels now advance to the OUA Final Four tournament where they will face the No. 9 McMaster Marauders in the first semifinal. The game is set to begin at 5:00 pm Friday night at Alumni Hall on the campus of the University of Western Ontario.

Windsor, 2 @ Guelph, 3 Box Score
The Guelph Gryphon men’s volleyball team defeated the Windsor Lancers in a tight five-set match in the OUA quarter-finals tonight (Feb. 18) at the W.F. Mitchell Athletic Centre in Guelph. Set scores were 25-21, 20-25, 20-25, 25-23 and 7-15.
The Gryphons now advance to the OUA Final Four hosted by the Western Mustangs which will take place in London from February 25-26.
The first set was close through six before the Gryphons went on a rally and built an 11-6 lead and continued to expand the lead. A combination of Guelph errors and strong Windsor serving helped the Lancers get back in the game. With Guelph only leading 20-17 the Gryphons were forced to take a timeout. Out of the timeout the teams traded points. With the score at 23-21, Winston Rosser (Whitby, Ont.) smashed the ball and then on the ensuing play Riley McAllister (Whitby, Ont.) served a great short serve which caused a Windsor error. The Gryphons took the first set 25-21.
The second set was very competitive and similar to the first with the two teams trading points early on. At the first technical timeout the Lancers were leading 8-7. The teams continued to battle back and forth throughout the set, by the second technical timeout the Lancers led 16-14. The combination of Ryan Le, Jimmy El-Turk and Kyle Williamson’s strong offence helped the Lancers build a 23-18 lead. After a number of Gryphon errors the set finished in Windsor’s favour 25-20. In total the Gryphons committed 11 errors in the second set, compared to Windsors three.
In the third set, the teams traded points once again until Kyle Williamson’s play sparked the Lancers to a 16-12 lead at the second technical timeout. Williamson continued to lead the Lancers in the set as Guelph’s defence broke down. Great blocking by the Gryphons got them back in the game, forcing Windsor to take a timeout with a 17-15 lead. Coming out of the timeout the Lancers charged ahead and took the set 25-20. The Lancers tallied 16 kills compared to Guelph’s 9 in the third set.
In the fourth set, Gryphon head coach Cal Wigston made a few substitutions including putting in setter Kevin Carey. The teams battled back and forth in this set once again, with Windsor maintaining a small lead. After the first technical timeout the Lancers had an 8-6 lead. The teams continued to trade points and at the second technical timeout the Lancers led 16-15. After the game was tied 20-all the teams traded points back and forth till the Gryphons went ahead and took the game 25-23. Guelph’s good blocking and great offensive play from Rosser was key to their play down the stretch.
In the fifth and deciding set, back-to-back kills by Jamie Stamer (North Bay, Ont.) put the Gryphons ahead 4-1 to start. The Gryphons dominated the rest of the set and kept a good lead on the Lancers. In the end, Guelph took the game 15-7.
The Gryphons were led by Jamie Stamler with 19 points (19 kills, 10 digs) while Winston Rosser added 16 kills and Andrew Stewart chipped in with 12 points (8 kills, 1 ace, 3 blocks).
The Lancers were led by Kyle Williamson with a match-high 24 points (20 kills, 1 ace, 3 blocks) while Ryan Le was not far behind with 21 points (17 kills, 3 aces, 1 block).
