GRYPHONS SET TO HOST PRESTIGIOUS GUELPH OPEN
The tournament is Canada's largest running varsity tournament and is set to showcase some of the most elite wrestlers from across the country.

The Guelph Open is one of two tournaments in Canada in which athletes have the opportunity to contend for national team carding. As a result, many national team athletes will be competing.
A total of approximately 12-15 Guelph Gryphons and ten club wrestlers from Guelph will hit the mats in search of securing a national team card at the event.
On the men's side watch for Gryphon second-year Kevin Iwasa-Madge (Milton, Ont.) who recently won the Brock Invitational in the 65 kg. Fifth-year Masters student Kyle Grant (Whitby, Ont.), an OUA champion and CIS silver medalist last year will be looking to get a strong start to his season. On the women's side second-year, Allison Leslie (Fergus, Ont.) will be looking to continue her winning ways after winning the Brock Invitational in the 67 kg event.
Other notable club athletes to watch for are Chris Prickett, who is national silver medalist; Alan Moffat, senior provincial champion; Jeremy Latour, senior provincial champion; Korey Jarvis, silver medalist at the Hargobind national carding tournament and Ryan Lue, 2009 junior national champion.
