MUSTANGS REMAIN UNSTOPPABLE WITH ANOTHER BIG WIN
The York Lions began the weekend Friday by posting their first win of the season, a 10-5 victory over the Trent Excalibur, thanks to Cheryl Phillips, a fly half from Scarborough, ON. Phillips scored all of York’s points for the fifth consecutive game, contributing a try, a conversion and a penalty goal. Phillips has 50 of her team’s 55 points on the season.
The Guelph Gryphons held Waterloo scoreless, defeating the Warriors 25-0 in Waterloo. Third-year fly half Meghan Howat led the Gryphons with two tries, while Sarah Hrabi, Megan Seiling and Jennifer Stewart had a try each. Guelph trails the unbeaten Mustangs by two points in the Sheils Division.
Courtney Allain scored two tries to help the Brock badgers earn a 42-0 win over the Toronto Varsity Blues Saturday. The Queen’s Golden Gaels defeated the Laurier Golden Hawks 31-5 with Kelly Lagace leading the way with 10 points on two tries.
