MUSTANGS LEAVE TORONTO BLUE IN 108-0 WIN
The Queen’s Golden Gaels remain on top of the Russell Division after winning their fifth straight match of the year 25-14 over the York Lions. Kelly Lagace had two tries to lead Queen’s, while Erin Bailey and Laura Cooney each added tries. York flyhalf Cheryl Phillips was once again the lone bright spot for the Lions, scoring all 14 points on a try and three penalty goals. Phillips, a Scarborough, ON native, has 54 points in five matches to lead the OUA (24 more points than the closest competitor). She is third in CIS scoring.
The Laurier Golden Hawks remained two points behind Queen’s with a 10-5 win over the Trent Excalibur. Dorothy Attakora-Gyan and Megan Wiles each had a try for the Golden Hawks, while Charlotte Kloosterman had Trent’s only points on a try. The Brock Badgers got a try from second-year Oakville native Laura Muddiman as they slipped past the Waterloo Warriors 5-0 at home in muddy conditions.
