Ashley Raaymakers had two tries for the Queen’s Golden Gaels as they handed the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks a 24-0 loss in Waterloo Saturday. Charlene Barter chipped in two conversions for the victorious Gaels.
Western 42 Waterloo 0
The Western Mustangs traveled to Waterloo and left with a decisive 42-0 win over the hometown warriors Saturday. Megan Gibbs led Western with three tries, while Jayne Cation added two tries. Three other Mustangs had tries. Jennifer Wong was good on two conversions for the day.

Guelph 29 Brock 3
The Guelph Gryphons started their season on a positive note with a 29-3 defeat of the visiting Brock Badgers Sunday in Guelph. Third-year player Meaghan Howat paced the Gryphons with 10 points on two tires, while Shannon Kane, Liane Inglis and Jennifer Stewart each added tries. Michelle Gauer and Michelle Austin each had a conversion for Guelph.
McMaster 20 Toronto 10
Jessica Panzer accounted for 12 of McMaster’s points as the Marauders earned a 20-10 win over the Toronto Varsity Blues in Toronto Sunday. Panzer had two tries and a conversion, Kaitlin Short added a try. A penalty goal from Jenn Buie rounded out the scoring for McMaster. Lucinda Ling and Lindsay Berncot had a try each for Toronto.
Trent 12 York 10
The Trent Excalibur left Toronto Sunday with 12-10 win over the York Lions. Erin Awe had a try and a conversion to lead the Excalibur, while Amy Bambury’s had the remaining Trent points from a single try. York fly half Cheryl Phillips had an inspirational performance for the Lions as she accounted for all 10 of her team’s points on a try, a conversion and a penalty goal.
