TRENT'S MARCOTTE NAMED TO TEAM ONTARIO STAFF
\"Nancy was recommended to the program because of her approach to training and player management by U23 Head Coach Paul Robinson,\" said Coumbe-Lilley. \"She is a no no-nsense personality that wants to get things done and she is a player advocate. She has deep experience working with the pack and her approach and focus will be a valuable asset to the program. After our first conversation, I knew we could work together and I am very happy she accepted my offer to join the program as an assistant coach focusing on forward play.\"
This coming fall, Marcotte will be entering her fourth year as head coach of the Trent Excalibur women's rugby program and she believes that a position with the Ontario senior women's team will only strengthen the Trent program.
"I am very excited to be working with John and the Ontario program," Marcotte said. "It's a great pleasure and challenge to be working with the best players in the province. Obviously everything I learn at this level will come back to Trent and ultimately I hope we will be developing players capable of playing at this level."
During the previous three years at Trent, Marcotte has developed into one of the top young coaches on the university circuit and in doing so she has earned the respect of her coaching peers.
\"I am pleased to have Nancy Marcotte on board with the ORU Senior women's team,\" added Natascha Wesch, ORU Director of Woman's Rugby and head coach of the University of Western Ontario women's rugby team. \"Nancy brings club and collegiate experience to the program, she is NCCP Level 2 certified and has deep experience coaching the tight five. She will be a welcome addition to the coaching staff. It is vital that as an organization, we at Rugby Ontario continue to recruit and develop more female coaches.\"
Trent Women's Rugby Assistant Coach Craig Harris is also coaching at the provincial level as an assistant coach for the Ontario U23 team.
