TORONTO STAYS PERFECT THROUGH SIX MATCHES
The Ottawa Gee-Gees defeated the Queen’s Golden Gaels 3-0 Friday. Queen’s dominated the opening two games 25-10 and 25-14 but had to battle in to win the third 26-24. Christine Lamey had 10 kills and 13 digs for the Gee-Gees. Amanda Digel led the way with 11 kills for the Golden Gaels, while also adding a match-high 20 digs. Queen’s bounced back with a 3-1 victory over the Brock Badgers the next day. The Badgers won the first game 26-24 but the Gaels then took three in a row, including a decisive 25-15 win in the fourth game. Digel had a match-high 16 kills and added 13 digs, as well.
The McMaster Marauders defeated the Guelph Gryphons 3-1 Saturday. In Sunday’s action, Lakehead received 13 kills and 14 digs from Melissa Merilainen to defeat the Gryphons 3-0, while the Badgers got past RMC 3-2. Victoria Van Gilst led Brock with 15 kills.
