THREE TEAMS UNDEFEATED
Windsor defeated the Golden Gaels in their first game of the season 3-1. The Lancers dominated Queen's in the first two sets winning 25-19 and 25-15 convincingly. The Golden Gaels regrouped in the third set winning 25-19 but were unable to push the game to a fifth and deciding set loosing a close fourth match by three points 25-22. Stephen Seguin led the Lancers with twenty-three kills and nine blocks in four games.
McMaster 3, Laurier 0
McMaster won their second game of the season taking all three matches convincingly against the Laurier Golden Hawks. The set scores were 25-15, 25-12, and 25-13 as McMaster surrendered only 40 points to Laurier over the three games. Peter Hrkal led the Marauders with twelve kills while the team had nine blocked shots compared to the Hawks two.
Western 3, RMC 2
RMC narrowly missed out on their first OUA victory in men's volleyball history as the Paladins fell to Western 3-2 in a game that went back and forth. RMC won a close first set 25-23 but Western bounced back to win the next set 25-18. In the third set, RMC retook the lead winning 25-17 and in the fourth Western just beat out the Paladins to force a game five. In the final game, Western pulled out the 15-10 victory giving the Mustangs their first win of the season. Adam Dumond led the team with seventeen kills while Chris Graham had fourteen of the Mustangs forty digs.
York 3, Ryerson 0
York took all three games in their match up against the Rams winning 25-20, 25-15 and 25-22. York had 41 kills in their three matches and Brad Girardo had nine of the team's nineteen digs leading the Lions to their second victory of the season.
Windsor 3, RMC 0
The RMC Paladins suffered their second loss of the weekend in three games to the Windsor Lancers. In the first set, Windsor won 25-17 and in the second set the Lancers defeated the Paladins in a close match 25-22. In the third set, Windsor once again dominated RMC defeating them by a score of 25-20 as Stephen Seguin had another good game for the Lancers with ten digs and six kills.
Queen's 3, Western 2
Queen's pulled out their first victory of the season in a close battle with the Mustangs. Western came out and took the first set from the Golden Gaels 25-20 but Queen's was able to pull out close victories in the next two sets, 25-23 and 29-27. It looked as if the Golden Gaels would win in four but the Mustangs pushed a fifth set in a tight fourth game winning 37-35. The final game lived up to the other close sets as Queen's took the set and the matchup with a 15-13 win. Adam Dumond led the Golden Gaels with 21 kills and 18 of the teams 77 digs.
