WEEKEND ROUNDUP
The sixth-ranked Gee-Gees faced off against the undefeated Western Mustangs, ranked second in Canada. The Mustangs held tight with Cristina Bonasia scoring the game's only marker, in the 1-0 Western win. Jessy Kapitany recorded the shutout. Sunday, Ottawa recovered, blanking Windsor 3-0. Dominik Bertrand scored twice for the visiting Gee-Gees.
Carleton had similar results against the southwestern Ontario teams, taking a 2-1 win over Windsor. Tara Currie and Diana Burmester recorded the Raven goals, while Megan Casey netted the Lancers lone goal. Carleton rookie Sasha Hart managed only one goal in the 3-1 loss to the #2 Western Mustangs.
In the South division, Guelph edged out McMaster 2-1 as they took a one-point lead over the Marauders for second place in the division. McMaster struck first as Laura Shoots found the back of the net late in the first half. The Gryphons responded as Jess McGrogan and Melissa Hyland netted Guelph's two second-half goals for the win.
Brock took a 3-1 win over the winless Ryerson Rams, extending their South division lead to two points. Karla Winters scored twice for the Badgers.
Elsewhere, the RMC Paladins drew a scoreless 0-0 game against the Laurier Golden Hawks. Waterloo stunned the Paladins 5-0 as Nicole Grinstead scored a hat trick for the Warriors.
