ROYAL MILITARY COLLEGE NAMES NEW MEN'S BASKETBALL COACH
A native of Halifax, Nova Scotia, James has served as assistant coach with the Dalhousie University men’s basketball team since 2003. He has also been appointed head coach of the 2009 Nova Scotia Canada Games men's basketball team.
"Scott brings a wealth of basketball experience and knowledge to RMC", said Darren Cates, Director of Athletics. "He clearly has a passion for the sport and has a solid track record of developing high quality student-athletes and teams."
The Paladins are coming off a winless season, having missed the OUA playoffs in each of the past three seasons. James takes over from previous coach Kevin McGuire.
“I am looking forward to the opportunity of being a part of the rich and storied tradition of the Royal Military College and its’ basketball program”, said James. “I’m very excited at the prospect of developing student athletes within this unique educational environment, as well as continuing to develop the current basketball program at RMC”.
James officially begins at RMC on June 23rd. The RMC men’s basketball team opens their season at home on November 7th against the Wilfred Laurier Golden Hawks.
