WESTERN WINS SECOND STRAIGHT OVER U.S. OPPONENT
WINDSOR, Ont. - The Western Mustangs won their second straight pre-season game over a U.S. opponent with an 85-78 win over NCAA Division I's Morgan State at the St. Denis Centre in Windsor on Aug. 30.
Once again, Colin LaForme was the top Mustang statistically scoring 19 points and adding nine boards.
Senior point guard Matthew Curtis added 18 points. Keenan Jeppesen, a transfer from Brown (NCAA Div. I), added 10 points and 7 rebounds while Alex Brzozowicz had 14 points and five rebounds.
Western, the defending OUA West champions, will face Southern Illinois (NCAA Div. I) on Sunday Aug. 31 at 11 a.m. at the St. Denis Centre in Windsor.
On Aug. 29, the Mustangs defeated the Anderson University Ravens (NCAA Div. III) 95-77 at Thames Hall.
Western's first regular season home game will be on Friday Nov. 7 when they host the Ottawa Gee-Gees.
