OUA M-BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: FOUR TEAMS REMAIN UNBEATEN
In what proved to be a very close contest, the Blues found a way to narrowly outscore their opponents in each quarter.
Matthew Powell (Toronto, Ont.) and Jamie Searle (Belleville, Ont.) led a late Lakehead charge, scoring eight and nine points, respectively in the final frame. However, 10 of a game-high 20 points from Blues forward Nick Snow (London, Ont.) would help hold off the 'Wolves as Toronto escaped with the victory.
Snow led all players with 20 points and nine boards, while fourth-year veteran Rob Paris (St. Catharines, Ont.) recorded 19 points for the Blues. London, Ont. native Patrick Sewell and Nick Magalas (Burlington, Ont.) each tallied 10 points in the win.
Yoosrie Salhia (Toronto, Ont.) recorded a double-double for the Thunderwolves, tallying 18 points and 17 boards. Kiraan Posey (Baltimore, Md.) added 17 points, while Searle scored 12 points for Lakehead in the loss.

GUELPH 81, LAURENTIAN 68
GUELPH, Ont. - Second year guard Jonathan Moscatelli (Toronto, Ont.) poured in 21 points, as the Guelph Gryphons men's basketball team claimed a 81-68 triumph over Laurentian on Saturday evening at the W.F. Mitchell Athletic Centre. With the win, the Gryphons improve to a 2-0 start on the season, while the Voyageurs drop to 0-3.
Moscatelli nailed three treys (3-for-4) and was perfect from the foul line (4-for-4) en route to the 21-point performance. Jay Mott (Burlington, Ont.) and Nick Pankerichan (Hamilton, Ont.) also reached double figures with 15 and 14 points, respectively. Big man Duncan Milne (Calgary, Ont.) got into early foul trouble but finished with eight points and four boards.
The Gryphons shined on both ends of the court on the night. Guelph shot an impressive 48.3 percent (29-of-60) and the bench outscored Laurentian's by a margin of 20-10.
Guelph led from the tip off outscoring the Voyageurs thru the first three quarters and entering the final frame up 60-45. In the last quarter, Guelph maintained its double-figure lead and found itself up by 17, 72-55, with five minutes to go, however a resilient Laurentian side tried to chip away at the deficit and increase their defensive pressure with full court defence. But the Gryphons would not let the Voyageurs get much closer as clutch free throw shooting made the deficit insurmountable for Laurentian.
As a team the Gryphons were 13-for-15 from the free throw line overall, including going 9-for-9 in the crucial second half.
