EXCALIBUR DEFEATS RMC ON HOME PITCH IN MEN'S SOCCER
The two teams quickly launched into a fast-paced, aggressive style game in the first half. Trent gained the dominant edge, with the ball in the offensive zone for the majority of play.
Both Cromwell Damile and Bobby MacNab of Trent had fantastic breakaways, displaying great hustle and high intensity. RMC goalkeeper Jhordan Dorrington took the pressure from Trent and added several saves to the mix. Thaddeus Bolton added the first point to the scoreboard, with a dynamic goal in the last two minutes of the first half, giving Trent the lead 1-0 going into the second half.
Trent players entered the second half of play with adrenaline pumping, ready to take the win. Nasar Noori had a brilliant breakaway early in the half, but was stopped by the RMC defence close to the net. Trent goalkeeper Josip Bosnjak saw more action this half but held up to the challenge and blocked all shots. Bolton put away another one for the Excalibur in the last minutes of play, bringing Trent to victory over the RMC, 2-0.
As of Wednesday, Trent's Bolton is now the leader in points for OUA men's soccer.
Excalibur men's soccer next battles it out with Carleton University on home turf this Saturday at 3:15 p.m.
