NO. 9 VARSITY BLUES BLANK EXCALIBUR IN MEN'S SOCCER
There was endless back and forth play for the first half, and no team had the clear advantage. Trent was on the ball, with Matthew Pontin's shots narrowly missing the Blues' net early in the half.
While the play in Trent's end, some confusion with the ball led Trent's Cromwell Damile to tap one into his own net, giving U of T the advantage of 1-0 going into half-time.
The second half saw some great hustle and a more aggressive-style game from Excalibur, yet Seung Bok Lee (North York, Ont.) of the Blues slid a goal in early in the half. U of T netted another one shortly after, this time by Nordo Gooden (Kingston, Jamaica).
Excalibur goalkeeper Josip Bosnjak handled the increasing U of T pressure extremely well, contributing some well-executed saves to the mix. Trent competed extremely well with U of T this game, considering they lost 6-0 last time they met up this season.
