ANOTHER FORMER OUA STUDENT-ATHLETE WINS GOLD AT OLYMPICS
VANCOUVER - Former Toronto Varsity Blues women's hockey player Jayna Hefford has won her third Olympic gold medal and fourth overall as a member of the Canadian national women's team that defeated Team U.S.A. 2-0 on Thursday.
Hefford, a forward with Team Canada, was the 1997 OUA rookie of the year and league's top scorer that season while playing with the Varsity Blues.
She joins another former OUA student-athlete, Heather Moyse, who along with teammate Kaillie Humphries won a gold medal in women's two-man bobsleigh on Wednesday evening.
