KEVIN HAMLIN NAMED HEAD COACH OF WINDSOR LANCERS MEN�S HOCKEY PROGRAM
A native of Windsor, Ontario, Coach Hamlin is considered to be among the top collegiate coaches in the province. He bring with him an outstanding record as a winning hockey coach and impressive credentials as a former player.
Hamlin joins the Lancers after spending the past seven seasons as the Head Coach of the St. Clair College Hockey program. While at St. Clair, he led his team to a pair of provincial championships and was a three time Ontario Collegiate Coach of the Year.
For the past two seasons, Hamlin has coach the St. Clair Saints in the Ontario Major Hockey Senior League. In 2006-07, he led his Saints squad to a 29-7 record and was named the Ontario Major League Coach of the Year.
An experienced coach at all levels, Hamlin has previously served as an assistant coach at Cornell University (NCAA Division 1) and as an assistant coach for the Windsor Spitfires.
"We are excited to have Coach Hamlin lead our Lancer Men's Hockey program," said Grace. "He has been extremely successful in coaching both collegiate and junior hockey and he has a proven track record of recruiting and developing student-athletes. We are looking forward to seeing our Lancer Hockey program develop under his leadership."
Before taking over the St. Clair College Hockey program, Hamlin served as the Head Coach of the Leamington Flyers. While in Leamington, he compiled a 142-44-16 record over four years, the highest winning percentage of any coach in the Western Jr. B. League.
Also an experienced varsity player, Hamlin had an impressive university hockey career at the University of Toronto. As a goalie, he helped lead his squad to a CIS National Championship. He was also honoured as a CIS All-Canadian, a two-time OUA All-Star and was named the University of Toronto Male Athlete of the Year.
Prior to attending university, he played four seasons in the OHL with the Windsor Spitfires, London Knights and Peterborough Petes.
Coach Hamlin is excited to be taking over as Head Coach of the Windsor Lancers Men's Hockey program.
"I'm excited to be joining the University of Windsor as the Head Coach of the Lancer Men's Hockey program," commented Hamlin. "I'm looking forward to the opportunity of building an elite university hockey program that will challenge for provincial and national championships."
Kevin earned his Bachelor of Physical Education Degree from the University of Toronto and his Bachelor of Education Degree from the University of Windsor.
