RAVENS M-HOCKEY LOSE IN FIRST ROUND AT VARSITY REDS CLASSIC
The Ravens opening up their second season, as an OUA Varsity Team, held their own in the first period against the powerful Varsity Reds allowing one goal, while rookie goaltender Alexander Archibald (Ottawa, Ont.) stopped 12 of 13 shots he faced in that opening period. UNB's goal came early at the three minute mark of the period.
In the second period, UNB scored four goals while peppering Archibald with 12 shots and in the third period UNB continued to pressure Carleton as they scored twice more on 16 shots. Archibald stopped 34 of the 41 shots he face in the game. The Ravens Penalty Killing unit did stop all 4 UNB Power Plays during the game.
Carleton's Brad Good, a second year defencemen (Kitchener, Ont.) led the Ravens with 4 shots on goal, as Carleton's offence managed 14 shots on three different UNB goaltenders. The Ravens won 21 of 63 face-offs during the game led by Brandon MacLean (Burlington, Ont.) and Derek Wells (Aylmer, Que.) who won 5 each.
